How to Outreach for a Non-Profit Organization

Hi, this is Jim Goettler with Expert Village. This is a video about how to form and operate a non profit organization once your organization is out and running, and you are comfortable in your community. It's more and more necessary to do more capacity building, more outreach and maintain the publicity that got you to this point. Don't sit back and rest on your morals cause it's not going to benefit anybody in the long run. You need to maintain your website, you need to get out in fairs and festivals, participate with the community and let them know what you're doing at all times. If you have a newsletter maintain it gets out to your membership let them know you're more than a fund raising mechanism that calls them at strange hours and sends out mass mailings. Incorporate the community into your projects and into yourselves and the work that you're doing, it will help you in the long run not just financially but as far as your projects go and your programming. It makes for a wonder organization and it makes a lot more fun for everybody involved. In the next segment I'm going to touch briefly on personal issues that will come up, stay with me.
