How to Bond With Your Dog

Hey! Welcome back to Expert Village. This is Marshall and this is Possum. Her breath is amazing right now. One of the great things to do with a puppy when they're little is to keep them on their back with you. Let them lay on their back and just kind of keep them there. Even if they want to squirm around and lay down. Just kind of tire them out, play them in the yard. When they're tired out, let them lay on their backs. They get used to that and they become very devoted to you in a different way, like she nuzzles, which is really nice when you're lonely or your girlfriend's out of town or your boyfriend's out of town. Then you always have a lover, a little lover that gives that gives special licks. She gives good licks sometimes. She doesn't just give kisses to anybody. When they're puppies also, one of the things puppies really like to do is chew. If they're chewing on you and it hurts, then you'll give them a little slap on the cheek and say don't, or you can know that that's how dogs get to know you. That's how they get to know each other. That's how they get to know their parents. They don't have hands. They can't shake your hand. If you can think about you wouldn’t spank a little boy or a little girl for wanting to shake hands anymore than you would spank a dog for biting you, because that's just how they get to know you. Isn't that right my precious boo. This is what happens. Look how dossal she is. I can hold her like this like a baby. I can put her over my shoulders. This is a big dog and she's completely comfortable here. Give me a high five. Give me a high five. Give me a high five. She's a little bit tired out. Possum's 9 years old now, but she still acts like a puppy. You get them into an environment where they feel very comfortable an they'll do anything for you, which is different than any other animal on the plant. I promise you. This is my baby. She's still my baby. She's just as comfortable as a little lamb chop. She's just a lamb chop.
