How to Use Advantix Flea & Tick Control

Hi, I’m Dr. Greg McDonald and I am here for Expert Village.com. We are talking about flea control and tick control in your dog or cat and today we would like to talk about a product that is called Advantix. Advantix is very specific for your dog. This can hurt your cat so it is very important to recognize that even if your cat is one of those cats that like to play or get close to the dog, the first 24 hours you should separate your dog and your cat when using this product. It is a relatively new product. It has Advantage in it that we talked about already but it also has another product in it to control ticks. So when you are living in an area that has both fleas and ticks, this is an excellent product to put on your dog. Again, application is very important. You have to get it down on the skin. You have to part the fur, put it up on their neck in several different areas so that it gets down under the skin and the next 24 hours it covers the whole area of the dog. It goes over their whole skin and stays in a lipid layer of the dog’s coat and does not get internally involved in any of the organs so it is very safe that way. Again, it takes care of both fleas and ticks and it is an excellent product for dogs.
