On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Jim Dufresne and I'm here to tell you about jazz guitar. Now, let's talk about stretching. It's so easy, when you're trying to get these notes like this, to injure your hand. Just like weight lifting, you can't just pick up five hundred pounds, you know, you've got to work your way up to it. The same thing with letting your hands stretch. You can't just go like that from the beginning, you've got to work up to it. So, stretching exercises, we've all seen this one but I'll go through it anyways. Here you start with all your fingers in a diagonal line, or maybe you might better start off here. When it starts getting painful, stop, we don't want to hurt ourselves, we just want to get to the point where we can start playing these live inter-valley leaps. That's a good one there.
