Using a Timer for Home Hair Perms

Hi, this is Lillian Garcia with Salon in Scottsdale and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am back with a rolled head of hair and ready to show you points on timing your home perm. One thing I did fail to mention earlier was you might want to change your cotton after you’ve applied the waiting solution just to have a dry cotton for the extra drips. You are going to want to get a timer and each home perm is usually timed for you. It will suggest anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes of timing before you rinse out your hair. If you go to a professional salon what they cosmetologists will do is after maybe 5 or 10 minutes, unwind a rod and check. The home perms are not as strong as the professional perms and that is one reason why they don’t sell them to you so they are able to time them for you. So you are going to want to get a timer; 10 20 minutes the box suggests. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. You don’t want cold air or wind to hit you but if you are in a real closed area, the waiting solution does have an odor and you will want to just set the timer and sit at a well ventilated area. Pick up the magazine and just wait for your timer to go off before you rinse your hair.
