On behalf of Expert Village my name is Joe Spano. One of the 4 segment of the serve was to contact point very important. One technique that I like to use is putting the beginner up against the fence or a wall of course gently pushing against the fence and tossing the ball directly up to the slow arm and pin it to the fence at the highest point. As you can see look at my back foot once again I'm completely on the toe and fully extended. So you ask the beginner to do is toss and pin the ball. Toss and pin the ball at the highest point. A mistake would let the ball drop when you see a bent arm. What you want to do is emphasis the full extension on a contact point and coming up on the knee, coming/turn the knee and the back foot to the net.
