How to Do a Backhand Volley in Tennis

On behalf of Expert Village my name is Joe Spano. In teaching the back hand volley you want the emphasis that you get back hand grip. Which you would switch from a forehand grip to a back hand grip by bringing the four finger knuckle on top of the racket. Once again to teach the beginner to move the racket forward and turn sideways by stepping across the line and coming up on the foot for a backhand volley. With the same thing you can use this continental grip which is a in between grip also on the back hand volley. A little more of a advance grip so you don't have to change from that grip to the forehand volley. You notice in both volleys the balance is very similar. Okay where you hit is perpendicular to the net, the racket is way above the wrist and way out in front of the shoulder. One of the most important things is not to take the racket way back but only to step forwards towards the ball.
