Hi, I'm Liz Hood on behalf of Expert Village and I am going over how to give your baby a bath. In this segment I am going over how to keep your baby comfortable in the bath tub. Now, one thing that you can do is to make absolute sure that the location that you have chosen to give your baby a bath is not drafty at all, is fairly warm. He is getting excited. And you want to also make sure that the bath tub is at the right temperature and one thing that you can try to do is always keep one hand on your baby so that they don't feel quite so alone, and keep talking to them constantly. It's a good thing. Even if you are just saying stuff like "now we're shampooing your hair", maybe make a song about it or something, babies really like that and also it really develops their language skills because then they know what words go to what things better and easier. And another thing that you can do is your cup that you have with you in the bath tub, you can just keep pouring warm water over them as you bath them, as you go along, kind of like keeping a turkey basted while you're cooking a turkey. Every once in a while you just need to take the warm water and pour it back over him and keep him warm and comfortable. What I like to do is after he gets rinsed off, I take him out of the baby bath tub and put him in the regular bath tub and just let him just kind of sit there and just kind of splash the water for a little bit. He really looks forward to that and you can tell that he is excited about bath time because when ever he is in there while I am filling up the bath tub he is looking over the edge and gets excited looking at the water filling up the tub. So, a bath tub doesn't have to be all serious for babies, you can make it a lot funner and they really appreciate that.
