Hi there can u make a video to show me how to shade with mags and flats so i can see the hand motions and how people hold the machine and is there any diffrence in the settings? as im having difficulty using these kind of needles thanks
Okay we are now finished with the outline. We just got a rough outline here as you can see and now we are going to begin putting some color in it. It is important here to know what to start with. Me personally I am going to start and put in some white highlights and work with the lighter colors first. The reason being you can blend a dark color into a light color but you can't blend a light color into a light color. Just kind of like working with markers. It is very similar. I am going to go ahead and start with that. I am going to put some white in first which for reference when you are applying white to the skin, it is difficult to see. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time for the tattoo to heal and then it will start to surface. But with any luck, it will show here. So here we are going to get started. I am going to start with the white. So that we don't get any cross contamination with any of the colors, I've got a brand new needle, fresh tube, fresh clean white and we are going to start with that. Now the tattoo needles that I am using for this particular application are 8 needle grouping and they are round. It is a round grouping. Okay and generally you want to work in small type circles. You can see the white beginning to go in. You want to work in real small tight circles. You don't want to go too deep and you don't want to overwork the area. You see the blood starts to come through a little bit. When that happens, you want to wipe the tip of the needle always backwards as such as you want to get some fresh white. As I am working this red color in right now, I am just filling and with filling you are going to work in circular motions like I am doing now. The ink starts to go in pretty well and then what I will do is run right up to the edge to make sure that it is clean up against your black line. Okay and make sure that your detail work is done. That you get in the tight areas. Then if like for instance, I am working in a circular motion, real small type circles, after you do that you may want to cross hatch a little bit too because you really have to get the ink into the skin and it helps. You see I move forward in a hatching motion like this and then I will go back in and work in some tight circles. Okay. Just want to inspect to make sure you've got the ink in the skin without a bunch of pin holes of skin color coming through. You want to dab just a little bit of Vaseline to keep it from bleeding too much and keep it soft. As you notice, I have some areas such as here, here , down here and also a sweeping motion. Those areas I am going to leave skin color. That gives a little bit of contrast. Going to work in these tight little areas. I don't know if you can tell but I am using very small circular motions and I am working at a 45 degree angle with the machine. You can see it went in real smooth right there. I am going to work around this area and we have this area here, go around that a little bit. Then I am going to try and get in there and do a little bit of hatching action to cover some area. Small tight circles, hatching action. A lot of different artists will tell you different things and like I said these are just the basics. This is just a simple tattoo that we are working with just to get your started. I want you guys to keep in mind that if the color won't in the person's skin, don't push it because some people's skin won't take it. Everybody's skin reacts different to pigment. Okay.
that vitamin water that appeared on his station is pretty cool i always find that vitamin water just tastes better when it's on my setup. and is that his used liner setup that is sitting up on the top teir of his station with his pigment? that's a really good place for it. he needs to worry less about cross contaminating his colors and worry a little bit more about cross contamination and his equipment. jesse for real put the machine down and go build bikes or something. maybe occ needs an extra pair of hands. benny, i use spaulding stuff... of course it's completely rebuilt by me. but i also know how a machine should run, i've got two sobas, four aaron cains, a steve turner, two old rebuilt mickys, a next gen, and a brian patton from when he was with workhorse. the moral of the story is that all of you who are trying to learn something from this guy... stop he has nothing to teach you. don't buy a good "entry level" machine save your money and buy a good quality machine it will make learning easier on you... this guy has nothing to teach you. he's a self glorified hack. if you need real advice i'm not in to helping people tattoo from their house but maybe i can steer you in the right direction just email me drenched_and_open@ya hoo.com and i'll try to give you some sound advie. but in general stop trying to learn a hands on art on the internet. and please put down the machines jesse
dude look at yourline work it's funny how you state rough outline which is correct it's thin in spots and thick and spots looks like crap why do you have a video on how to tattoo when you have no clue how too and you're giving thumbs up to huck spaulding when there stuff is garbage you suck
Wow, I hope no one actually listens to this guys advice on how to screw people up. working from light to dark? good way to completely -- up people's tattoos. And as to "flawless linework"??? HA! The APPRENTICES at the shop I work at (yes, shop, as opposed to a room in your house with dirty carpets) can do better linework than this and they are just starting to tattoo. Everything I have seen on this butcher's videos is WRONG.
Thank you very much for your videos, Jesse! Cheers from Italy
-- man, HATCHING!???!?! WTF is that --, more like ripping up and overworking the skin, and btw those "small circles" you're making aren't exactly small. AND YOU DON'T EVEN USE VASELINE ON THE SKIN?!??!?! you NEED to lubricate the needles!! YOU'RE DOING MORE HARM THAN GOOD! ACK!!!!
Hands down the worst "professional&q uot; line work i've ever seen. Apprentices with the first time jitters have cleaner lines. If you really want to learn...go get yourself an appreticeship. These videos should honestly be deleted. I think my art skills dropped 30% just watching this crap. If you have the hands of a Parkinson's riddled grandfather like this guy, please look into another career.

in regards to benny... dude, i hope to god u urself dont do tats cause your eyesight is --. have you ever taken a second to pause the video clip at the beggining when the camera zooms in and notice his linework? you know, its that little -- button there... the one you hit to start the video... (just had to let u know cause i figure ur a retard)... you stated, and i quote, "dude look at yourline work it's funny how you state rough outline which is correct it's thin in spots and thick and spots..." i beg to differ. his linework is -- flawless. let the camera zoom in and hit pause. ur a moron benny, a -- moron, lmfao. i do tats myself and everything he said is true. some people cross-hatch, some people dont. some people load tons of vasseline on the skin, some dont. i give this video and jesse's work 5-stars. worth the watch for new artists.
The line work is hideous, the coloring is hideous - probably will scar. What is up with the speed stick, buddy? NO ONE uses that crap anymore - the health department needs to shut you down and these videos need to be deleted!
