Hi, this is Shana Bethune on behalf Expert Village. I'm going to talk to about how to arrange your desk space. So first of all you want to make sure that anything you use all the time is out on your desk. That you won't have to look for it or move it from some place else, then anything you don't need very often like maybe pens and scissors and stuff like that should be stored nearby so that you can get to easily. But that it's not out making a mess and in your way keeping things organized in your desk or in drawers nearby is also a great way to make sure that you don't accidentally purchase something you already have. For example, you can't find a pair of scissors you're most likely going to go out and buy another pair, then you'll have 2 pair of scissors floating around and that can really make more clutter than you need. Your desk space should be setup in such a way that you can work efficiently so everything you need is within arms reach and stuff you don't need doesn't get in the way. It's very easy to have a whole pile of stuff that you really don't need just sitting on your desk getting in your way and then that makes it more difficult to find the things that you really do need. So having a place for everything near your desk can cut down and frustration. Make a habit of not putting anything on your desk that doesn't belong there cause it's very easy to start with one thing and then end up with a whole pile of stuff that you really don't need. Your desk is where you're going to be spending the most time of all in your office so make sure it's setup the way it works best for you.
