How to Give a First Swedish Massage

Hi, my name is Kimberly Mann, on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this segment, we are going to talk about tips for therapists who are just coming out of school, or to the therapists that have been doing it a very long time, like myself. We really, really need to pay attention to how we stand; and people/therapists, if we have been doing it a long time, we forget the routine of things, because we are more into helping the person feel better, and we forget about ourselves. I would personally like to say to all of the new therapists that are out there, you really truly need to pay attention to how you stand on the table, on the person, how high the table is, how low the table is; and if you keep your table up high, then you really need to pay attention to how you are standing. As like my table here is really low, and you really need to bend your knees. I would like to definitely say, if you do not have a chiropractor, the tips are what you practice is what you preach. If you are really doing a lot of heavy volume of massaging Monday through Friday, please go and see a chiropractor, my fellow therapists, because it is very important that you maintain your own health and keep your own body in alignment.
