I Major Chords for Jazz Piano in D Minor

Alright now we are going to go more and study the importance of the one major, the D using that as your root. So when you play a song that is in the key of D major, everything is going to lead into there. See I am still in this pattern even though I am playing different chords. There are several important chords to learn in the D major. Your most important are the 1 and the 2-5 and you also have your 6 minor which is your relative minor. So when you play in B minor, you are utilizing the D major scale. So that is another important chord to get under your belt. Also you have the 4 chord which is the Lydian. So if you can play that and you can play all the notes in the scale and it is really airy and floating and it really feels like it wants to go back to the 1. So those are some hip roots for building chords out of the scale of D major.
