Home Schooling Resources

Hello! My name is Terry Neven and I am administrator of California Home Educators and principal of Sunland Christian School. In this clip we are going to talk about getting started. So you've decided that you are going to home school. Where do you begin? I suggest that you associate yourself with an organization in your area that can assist you. It might be a support group or it might be a home school program. They can help you with decisions about curriculum, record keeping, tell you about the opportunities of field trips or other extra curricular activities that you can participate in and off and running, there you go. It is my suggestion though that you take the first year as a pilot program. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are not going to ruin your child. Together you can both learn and learn about each other. You can learn about how the process of academic learning occurs. Well we hope that things will go well for you. If you need any help, there are plenty of people to call on for assistance. Have a good time.
