Beyond the Home School Class

Hello! My name is Terry Neven. I am the adminstrator of California Home Educators and the principal of Sunland Christian School. In this clip we are going to talk about home schooling and extra curricular activities. Every family wants to make sure that there student is involved in some social opportunities or additional opportunities of learning beyond just a classroom or work book experience. Many local support groups and home school programs offer field trips, campus days, opportunities to go to local zoo or museums or other learning opportunities available to do as a group. It is fun and a great way for others to get to know one another in the home school process. Also there can be opportunities where churches put on a play or kids are involved in a program or they want a program where things of that type can be opportunities for socializing. The popular question is what about socialization with home schooling. Well the truth is most home schooled children are better adjusted socially than the average child from a public or private school if they've had the opportunity to interact with the children and people of all ages. There are plenty of extra curricular opportunities available to the home schooler usually through the local support group or the home school program in your are.
