Hi, my name is Kimberly Mann, on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this segment, we are going to be talking about this part of the region in the back, that would be the midsection of the back, right in this area. That would be between where the kidneys and where the liver is in the back. In this are people have a lot of tension, because they sit in chairs daily or they do a lot of driving in their line of work. So as a therapist or beginner therapist, really just be gentle in this area because it is the kidneys and you do not want to lean too, too heavy on it, even though the person themselves want deep tissue. So just be really, really careful, and you can do petrassage or kneading of the sort; that definitely helps and that starts to loosen all of the body and the muscles in the back as well. So what you do to one side you want to do to the other side and you really want to make sure that they are feeling good. The body will tell you, let alone. If the person themselves is asking you to go deeper, just really-really listen to the body; it will tell you if it is too much, too light; and if it is letting you in, then just apply a little bit more harder on the pressure. That is for any therapist as well, beginners or people who have been out there doing it a long time. So just maintain that pressure that you are doing, and everything else around that part of the region and the upper part will start to loosen up.
