Hi this is Elise McMahon for Expert Village.com and in this video series we are talking about taking your dog for a walk. If you would like to find out more about my services, you can visit my website at www.canineheadstart.com. In this short video clip, we are going to be talking about getting your dog out of a car. So let’s imagine that we’ve arrived at our destination and we are ready to walk out dog. I want to be able to open the door and have the dog come out when I ask him as opposed to just springing out when they decide to go. So I’ve got my leash with me, the dog is collared and he is back of the car, so let’s see how we are going to do. When I open the door, I am going to ask the dog to wait. Tai, wait. I am going to call the dog to me and pop his leash on his collar. Tai come, wait. With the dog waiting and not jumping out of the car, I am going to put the leash on his collar. Wait. And I don’t want the dog to come out. Wait. I don’t want the dog to come out until I’ve given him the release. Okay. Good boy. I can close the door and we are ready for our walk.
