Single Step Move in Swing DancingHello! This is Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com, and this is my dance partner Cindy. We are going to demonstrate the basic swing step. To begin with, the lead will start with your left foot and the follower will start with her right. We are going to step in place for right now. Ready go, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step. What you are doing is you are moving music; that is dancing. But for the basic swing step, you need to add in the rock step, and the rock step will be demonstrated for you now: step-step rock step, step-step rock step, step-step rock step, step-step rock step. As you can see, we are a mirror image of each other, with me starting on my left foot and her starting on your right foot step-step rock step, step-step rock step. When you do the rock step, you do not want to step far behind. You want to keep it close. You are keeping the weight over the balls of your feet. Step-step rock step, step-step rock step, step-step rock step, step-step rock step, step-step rock step, step-step rock step and that is the basic swing step.
