How to Taxi an Airplane
Hi, I?m Dave Pressey with Saint Charles Flying Service on behalf of Expert Village. About com two for a radio check. You look clear. Thank you very much, we'll see you. Want to make sure our radio's set to the proper frequency. Okay, flaps are up. We're ready to taxi. We're adding up the power. Steering with our feet. Check the wind sock here. Looking for other traffic on the ground. And we'll check the wind sock to determine the runway to use. We want to take off into the wind. Okay, we're steering with our feet using the power and our differential pedal pressure to keep the nose straight down the center line. Watch our clearance on either side to make sure we don't run into other aircraft. We're going to taxi up to what's called hold short line. This is a line that demarcates the difference between the taxiway and the active runway environment. Brakes are forward with our toes, and stop on the brakes.
