Basic Solfege Method for Female Voice Training
Hi! I am Erica Lane and I am with Expert Village and I am talking about how to train the female voice. I want to talk about a method called soulfege. You are also going to accompany that with hand signs. Soulfege involves the same do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do.... It covers the full major scale and I want to start by teaching you do. This is do on a middle C. It is your first interval, your second interval is going to be re and you are going to have a slant in your hand so the first one is do, which is a fist, the second one re… The third interval is mi… it is just flat across the top and the fourth interval is faa, faa it comes down and the fifth interval is so, so, the sixth interval is la… It is like an upside down cup or an upside down C and the seventh interval is ti, ti so you have a finger pointing up and then finally what I like to refer to is that the t is actually pointing out to the high do. So actually it is leading to the resolution, which is the high do, so we are again starting on the low do again. Let’s go all the way up the scale using soulfege accompanied with hand signs... You can go even backwards...
