Jaw Placement Exercise for Female Voice Training
Hi! I am Erica Lane. I am with Expert Village and I am talking about how to train the female voice. I am going to talk about jaw placement and also using your soft palate. Whenever you are singing, make sure that you are not singing with your jaw clamped together like this, just like this way that I am talking. Make sure that you are opening your mouth and that you have full capacity for your words to come out. Jaw placement is very important especially when holding out notes and high notes. You always need to lengthen your jaw and one of the tricks that I use with my students is to take two fingers and place them in between your teeth, like this in between the top teeth and the bottom teeth, will actually be the correct space that you need for when ever you are singing and also make sure that you are not moving your jaw from left or right, repeatedly when you are singing. That will also affect the vowels and even sometimes the consonants that are coming out when you are using your diction to sing.
