Are Self-Taught Artists Born With Talent?

Hi, this is Christina Varga from the Varga Gallery in Woodstock, New York and on behalf of Expert Village today I’m going to show you how to be a self-taught artist, not an easy thing. All right, so are you born with it, or are you not born with it? Well that’s you know, it really doesn’t matter. You might not be born with it, but you might have been born again, you’re a born again artist, you can do it, why not. I think I was probably born with it because I was always painting and doing these sorts of things but I have also facilitated people who were probably not born with it into creating very beautiful pieces. So don’t worry if you’re not born with it you kind of learn it but you have to learn it from yourself, you can’t learn it from somebody else because then you’re just going to learn somebody else’s inspired thing and try to make artwork out of it and that’s not going to work so do what makes you feel good, ha, ha, ha ah, applause.
