How to Grip a .40 Caliber Semi Automatic Pistol
Now we are going to talk a little bit about the grip of a firearm. When you go to grab a firearm providing it's in a holster, what you would like is you would like the web of your hand, this part right here of your hand to be high. This is considered the back strap. You would like your hand to be high, to be high on the back strap of the firearm and you naturally want to curl the other three fingers around the side of the firearm like so. It's always important to always keep your index finger which pulls the trigger off of the trigger until you are ready to fire or until you are on target. It is firmly believed by myself and others in the, in the firearms community that there are no such things as accidents when it comes to firearms. This gun will never go off unless I pull the trigger manually. So remember, hand high on the back strap, fingers naturally curled around the grip, finger on the side of the frame. This is considered a good grip. The thumb on the other hand just comes around and rests upon the other three fingers that are on opposite sides of the grip. The gun should be held tightly but not as tightly where the gun starts to shake or you start to get a tingling sensation in your hand.
