How to do a Manual to a 180 on BMX Bikes

Alright now it's time to demonstrate the Manual to 180. Like I said, it's a little bit easier to learn on a driveway box type deal and for some people it's easier to learn it on something you know, about ten to twelve feet long. I'm going to demonstrate it on something a little bit shorter because that's really what's available to me right now. You're going to want to make sure, like I said, to get enough speed to get a controlled Manual, something not too slow, as you're coming off across the top and then get a good solid pop out. So here it goes. So like I just showed you the roll out wasn't very clean at all, I hung up my front wheel on the corner of that hip right there but it should give you the idea. Basically hop up, and I'm not flying or anything, I'm also trying to make sure that I'm not going too slow because if you go too slow it's just going to make the roll out nearly impossible. So ideally there wouldn't be anything there for me to hang up on but you want to make sure that you get a good solid lock into that balance point. Which can be a little bit more difficult for longer Manuals to 180s, but I think it's all mental honestly, but at the same time if you find yourself with only something very short to learn on that can also be more difficult because it doesn't give you as much time to set up for the pop. Like I said, you just want to make sure that you are spinning the bike with the back wheel coming underneath you almost. Sort of like you are coming out of a Fufanu and then you just look for your landing point and try to stay loose, carry a good amount of speed and get a good solid roll back. This is one of the more versatile tricks that you could possibly ever learn and it's a really fun one, it's always a challenge because there is always something new and different to do it on. So have fun learning it and don't get discouraged because it really does cause a lot of people a lot of headaches. So just keep on trying it and you'll get it eventually.
