In this next part, we are going to discuss the bottom or snare side head. There are a few different types of snare side heads that you can use. This particular one is made out of Kevlar which is also the same material that they make bullet proof vest out of. So in that sense, it is going to be much more durable than what we've got here, is the plastic version. It really depends on what sound you want to go for and really how much you want to maintain the head. These Kevlar heads are a little bit more durable and they will go at a tune much less. The plastic heads will really stretch or condense depending on the weather or the moisture in the air and they will also break and pull much more often than this particular Kevlar head. So the one I choose to leave for these drums, the Kevlar version. You can see we've got 1 here on the bottom side of the drum.
