Questions & Answers(unscrewing the lugs on the snare drum) Now at this point you might want to try to remove the rim from the drum head and the drum a lot of times there would be a lug somewhere that is still stuck in. So what you are going to want to do is go around and loosen each lug a little bit instead of having to search around just give each one a little turn. Usually you would get it, here we still got one stuck in this side. You can remove the rim and place it down on a safe surface that won't damage it. We got a blanket there to try to prevent scratching and then you can just remove the head off of the drum of the top like that and set it down.
