Childproofing Your Bathroom

Never leave such things as Lysol freshener on your floor for children to get into. Things that are very harmful for children, the chemicals that we use to unclog our drains and toilets, they should never be stored in or on the floor. They should be put into a cabinet as such or into a drawer or up high where they can’t get to.

Other common bathroom items such as shaving cream, aftershave lotion, colognes, body splashes, perfumes, fingernail polish, lipsticks and other cosmetics can all be very harmful if ingested and put into eyes.

Razors like these with snap covers, they do provide an extra layer of protection. But when finished with them, never toss them into the trash can because they can be very dangerous for a child. As you can see, the blade right here.

Objects such as scissors and nail file clippers require special precaution for children. These should always be put in drawers or way up high because they’re very, very dangerous for a child. So sitting on a counter even like this, can be toppled over and a child can be in trouble.

A precaution a parent should always take is to lower the seat of the toilet because children have been known to drown in less than half an inch of water.
