Bug Protection for a Baby on a Hike

Hi I'm Liz Hood on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to be speaking about taking a baby out on a hike now one thing you need to be aware of is to always use bug spray. There are many risks associated with using bug spray especially on children but not as many risks as going without it and having the risk of getting diseases carried by mosquitoes and other wild life bugs. One thing that you really need to keep in mind is to only use 7% deet for a list on a children's skin and if it's higher than 7% you put it on the clothes, that's right. You put it on there clothes and not there skin even stuff like this that doesn't have deet in it at all, you still need to be careful with it. What I do is I apply it to my hand and then kind of tap it on his skin and never ever put it on there hands because they put there hands in there mouth.
