Spider lily; they bloom one time a year and after the blooms are finally through, then what we do is reach way down into the plant and remove the entire flower stalk. What this will do, once again, the whole point of deadheading is to make the plant continue to produce flowers. So by deadheading, we’ll get another bloom out of this particular plant. So reach way down into the plant and remove the spent stalk. Almost all plants that bloom benefit from this method of removing spent blooms as much as possible. After all, that’s why we have blooming plants - so that they will continue to bloom. Notice that it gives them a very nice, neat appearance now. One more.
