Hi this is Bill Macpherson for Expert Village okay in this clip I would like to talk about some of the things you can do with cut and paste and looping. So we're going to use our guitar file here it's this track I'll let you listen to it, and what we're going to do is cut it up a little bit and we're going to setup some looping. So I'm going to grab my scissor tool and I'm going to cut right here on the 1/4 measure, on this section you want to drag another 1/4 measure this first section select it, I'm going to turn on the loop, and then we're going to take this last section and shorten it from the end bring that down to third measure and we'll listen to that back. Now I like the way that sounds but it will be hard to setup a loop because they're 2 different files here, so what I want to do is I'm going to take this first file and turn the loop off and I'm going to create a copy of this by holding down my option key and dragging. So now we have 3 continuous audio files I'm going to select them all I'm going to under region, merge, regions, now this is going to create a new audio file so you want to hit create, now I created one file here you can see it, now we can turn on the loop. We can listen to that back that's some of the ways you can use cut and paste and looping in logic pro.
