Pouring Champagne

Hi this is Dave for Expert Village today we're going to discuss champagnes and sparkling wines for pouring the champagne this bottle has something that's called a punt at the bottom. And what this was usually used for is for when your doing the riddling process we we're talking about earlier it'll catch a settlement down here and make the wine clear. And when you riddle it the settlement will come up on one side and they can pull that out, another handy thing to do this is if your feeling confident and if you wanted to do a little bit of flare please go ahead and do a couple of test runs. You can put your thumb in the punt like this, make sure your hand is out here like this to pour the champagne, it's pretty elegant to do it this way. Make sure you practice a little bit if you haven't done it before and you just pour your champagne right into the glass like that. If your a little unsure about it steady your hand just like this and you only want to pour it about this much.
