Differences Between Champagne & Sparkling Wine

Hi this is Dave for Expert Village today we're going to discuss champagnes and sparkling wines okay what's the difference between classic champagne and a sparkling wine well the French had developed a method called a appellation controlee that was basically to help the consumer know what exactly what grapes were coming from and what region it was coming from. And it was a really good thing so appellation controlee said that everything every sparkling wine that comes out of the champagne region in France was champagne. Every where else in the world should be called a sparkling wine because it doesn't come from champagne. So here's a great example of a champagne Veuve Cliequot house of champagne it says as they says appellation control there and it's champagne so you know it's from them, it's a place called Reims France Upernae is another great house in French champagnes.
