How to Talk in a Crowded Club

Hi, I'm Alex MacRae, a social dynamics instructor on behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm here today to talk about picking up women in bars and clubs. What do you do if you're in a bar or club that's so loud you have to talk over the music? Well, there are two parts that I think are important. First, make sure your voice tone is natural. It's very easy to be in a club environment and to be yelling like this, it doesn't sound natural and it's very hard to convey your personality. You might be heard and your voice might come across but you don't sound like a man any more, it sounds like you're on helium. You don't have to talk in a Barry Manilow voice but you have to talk in a voice that's natural to yourself. One way to find this out is to put your hand on your chest. You want to talk in a way that increases the vibration from your chest, that way you'll know you're talking in your normal healthy voice tone. This way you can talk louder and you're still within the normal voice range, without yelling like this, yelling up in your throat. The other thing to keep in mind is that if you're in a very noisy environment it's understood that people have to lean in to talk to each other and it's a good way to get comfortable being close to a girl and just being closer in general. So, you can lean in naturally and then lean out to listen. This way you'll know that wherever you are you'll be able to be heard over the music. Thanks for listening.
