How to Feed baby Chicks with Open Cafeteria System

Hi, I'm Dr. T.K. Roy. I am speaking on behalf of Expert Village. Birds are maintained on a free range system, or what is commonly called the "open cafeteria" system. That is, every household maintains about 8-10 birds in their home; which, they release in the morning and allow the birds to roam about, behind and around a residential area. The birds then pick from the field, insects, vegetations, and some other types of food, and come back to the house in the evening. Then, they are put back inside a box for the night and released the next morning. Some farmers give the birds additional food, such as kitchen waste, or greens waste, whatever is available. There is not a limit to what they are given everyday. The type of food varies daily. Open range systems are now being observed in poor countries, in rural areas, and underdeveloped countries.
