How to Use a Chick Feeder

I am Dr. T. K. Roy, speaking on behalf of Expert Village. Feed for the chicks, what you call the Starter Feed. I mean, the chicks, when they start eating feed, that is known as Starter Feed. Depending on the nutrient requirements of the body of the chicks, the feed for solution is done in that way, so that the chick feed contains highest possible percentage of protein which is about twenty-one percent or so. Grower feed will be little less for it contain, in energy contain. They should be given food and water around the clock. I mean, food and water should be made available for the chicks around the clock. Here we see a chick feeder, what you call, made out from wood. It can be made like this, by any carpenter in any area of the country. So, they are not very high, not very deep. They are quite shallow so that the small chicks can put their head down and pick up the grains from here. But you can see there is a rail on top. This has been done to prevent, you know, the chick, ah, ah, putting down his legs, etcetera inside of the feeder. So, they cannot enter and put their legs on the feeder, so feed remains very hygienic. Thank you very much.
