Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now let me show you how to apply the ribbon. Because sewing a ribbon on often wiggles around as you are sewing, I am going to glue the ribbon instead of pinning it. Often when you pin a ribbon on it is going to bunch a little bit and gluing it with a fabric glue will hold it on nice and steady so that you can sew it on nice and steady. So we are going to take a little fabric glue. The fabric glue you can buy at any craft store or sewing store. It is either called fabric glue or tacky glue and you don't want to use too much glue. Just a little bit following the line that you are going to put your ribbon on. Tacky glue is nice, fabric glue is nice. It is a very thick glue and it won't soak into your fabric so much but it will hold the ribbon tight and it will dry quickly. You don't want to put too much on there, so I am just putting enough to glue this ribbon down. If you put too much it will be soaking through the fabric, soaking through the ribbon. You don't want that. Okay and then just press it down nice and even and we will let that dry. Now let's glue the other side following our markings. Okay and then again, we will place our ribbon. You can also get nice and straight by holding the top and giving a little tug on the bottom and that will help you with a straight line. Let's let that dry and then we will be ready to sew.
