On behalf of Expert Village, I am Courtney Trent and today I will be teaching you the basic fundamentals Jazz Funk. Jazz funk includes both Jazz and Hip Hop styles of dance. Mostly this is done to Hip Hop dance routines, different dance songs, and we just add some leaps and turns to make it a Jazz funk dance. So let?s get started with a warm up and some stretching. Today were going to start off with some basic stretches you would use with jazz and hip hop dance. The first one you want to get into a deep plea?s that way you?re stretching out your thighs and push to the right, to the left and alternate. You?re going to go down touch the ground stretch out the hamstrings and the calf muscles. Take it to the right, over to the left. You?re going to take it all the way down. Right side, you want to hold each stretch for ten to twenty seconds, twenty seconds would be the best. Go all the way down come down here, stretch out your quads. Down, up, and repeat the same thing with the other side. A basic warm up would be some sliding just get your body going some cardio, get the heart pumping, some basic grapevines, some turnings, some taps. You can do some basic relieves to get your balance going and get your balance started because you are going to be doing a lot of turns and some leaps. Balance will also help with your Hip Hop moves. So let?s get started with the first move.
