I'm pretty sure Jo Jo Holland got SECOND in the state championships! Also he, not his one-legged friend is the most accomplished disabled athlete I've ever seen as he's obviously legally retarded. Calling Jo Jo Holland "dumb as a rock" is an insult to rocks everywhere.

Wrestling Philosophy

Wrestling isn't just a sport, it's a way of life. It's a way to live. You wake up every day and you think 'I've got to make weight', you know. You do everything towards your goal. You set goals, you stay determined, you stay focused, you get it done. You have to be dedicated, you have to have discipline. You can't have a double-cheeseburger before your match. You're going to be all fat, you won't make weight. You won't be able to wrestle, you'll suck! It's very pressure-fide. It's lots of pressure, you got to. It's a single, one-man sport. Unlike football, and basketball, and hockey, and all those sports where you can play your heart out and you can do everything right and still lose, wrestling is all about you. It's about one single person making everything happen for themselves. You are the coach, the center, the quarterback, the defensive end, everything! You are the team in your wrestling match. And you win or you lose. You decide your fate. Not your coach, the quarterback, whoever. That's what makes wrestling so special. But you have to stay focused, you have to be smart, you have to be strong at the same time. You got to be very, very, very ,very goal oriented. You have to know what you want, you have to run miles for breakfast, eat push-ups like mints, and do everything, everyday. Stay consistent, consistency is the key. Wrestling is like a rare bird, in the jungle of Africa. You might not see her a lot, but when you do, she flaps her wings in such a way that it makes you dream about her for days. A. k. a., you should wrestle because it's not easy, and it's hard. Just like Bobby Brown and Tina Turner, if you know what I'm saying. But anyway, when it comes to the mat you got to go one-hundred percent all the time, you can't give up. When you lift, lift hard. When you let go, let go quickly. Just make sure you do it all at once and get it done. And you know when you're out there on the mat and you hear everybody cheering and everything, you just have to understand they're all cheering but they don't know you, no. You know you, so you just think and stay focused on the mat. And think about it, you have to plan your steps. What am I going to do? You're going to say alright, I'm going to take down, then I'm going to do a reversal, then I'm going to do this, then I'm going to break him down, then I'm going to throw him over there, then I'm going to do some jumping jacks, you have to have a plan! And when you execute that plan one step-at-a-time, you have to stay in that mode. It's all mental, ninety-nine percent mental, one percent physical. There are people with one leg. I know this girl that weighs one-hundred and fifteen pounds, she will kick your ass! It's wrestling, it's true. I know this one guy, he's got one leg, he slaps everyone on the mat, no one can beat this guy! He's the state champion of North Carolina. One leg, what's that all about? It's mental, man.
