Text & Chat Slang for Cell Phones

Hi, I'm Mark Emily on behalf of Expert Village in this second segment we are going to go through how to use geek speak on your cell phone to make text messages. This form of short hand will save you time and and also be a little more fun in creating your messages. Okay, Let's get started. Well different phone manufacturers will have different processes to get to the basic functions of using text messages we are going to go through mine. First I am going to go into the menu, go to messaging, then I am going to go into send text. Now I am going to send it to the phone number 555-555-5555 okay. Now I am going to go into the message section. Now that we are in our menu we can go ahead and start entering our text and for example I am going to put in LOL in there for laughing out loud. And you just use your keypad as necessary to work your way through the letters and the text. Now I've already put together a text message and we're going to go through what some of these simple meanings in geek speak are. So we are going to start with the very very simple ones. We are going to start with Y which represents why. M which represents am. N which represents an envelope. M8 which represents friend. NE which represents the word any. R represents the word are. U is you. O as is kind of a surprise. K is OK. L8R is later. 4VR is forever. YER as in your. B4 is before. And CUZ is because. Now we are going to look at some more of the complicated ones. These are just a basic list but it will get you started. AYT is are you there. IGU is I give up. IMO is I my opinion. JAM is just a minute. JJ is just joking. LOL is laughing out loud. LMHO is laughing my head off. ROTFLOL is rolling on the floor laughing out loud. OIC means oh I see. SUP means what’s up? TNX or sometimes TKS is thanks. U2 is you too. UR is you are. TTYL is talk to you later. Once again we got L8R down here as well. BBL is be back later. GTG is got to go. CU is see you. That should be everything you need to know to get started with geek speak and with that I will say thanks and see you later.
