How to Deadhead Echinacea Flowers
Here we have echinacea, or the “purple cone flower.” And deadheading on this plant is very rewarding and very necessary. As you can see, here comes the next bloom on the stem. So once again, following our rules for deadheading, we’re going to cut just above that, and here’s our new plant. See the plant? And that’s how we deadhead that one. This one can be very rewarding because it blooms almost constantly if this is done. So its worth removing flowers for a little while to get more flowers. We’ll have almost twice as many now as we had before.
