How To Read Computer Weather Models

Hello I'm weather announcer Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village today we're going to be talking about the weather. In this clip we're going to be talking about computer models and we'll call this clip mastering the models there's so many computer models that involve the weather rather you are talking about radar imagery, satellite imagery, temperatures, smog advisories, humid advisories there are so many computer models. So you have to learn to read these models really practice does make perfect and the more that you read them the more you will understand. Computer models that predict the weather are the bases on honestly for every forecast that's where we get our information from. Research on computer models and then we put all that information together current weather observations from all over the world are fed into these various computer models which we then use that information to predict the weather. So the predictions come out in the form of graphics and numbers that are available on the web and that's how we learn or interpret the various models. And then as a weather announcer I take those models and that information as I translate that into a weather cast that's seen on television. So in order to actually read the models and understand the models it is practicing and a lot of the websites that you can visit. Some examples you can see here they'll explain how to read them but again going over them depending what type of model your looking at, rather it would be a system forecast or a active weather the more you view them on a daily bases the more you will begin to understand them.
