Hi I'm Jitin Tuli on behalf of expertvillage.com and now I'm going to tell you about about strategies involving the rook. This following position why it is so important to control a open file with a rooks. As you can see the black rooks completely dominate the open file on the board. In many position the powerful rooks would advance across the board to attack and then capture the opponents pawn. Here however the black has a much stronger plan.
