Hi I'm Jitin Tuli on behalf of expertvillage.com and now I'm going to tell you about the game of chess. As we know chess is a ancient strategy game played between 2 players. It is played on a square board. The board is divided in rolls which is also called the ranks and the columns which is called the files. There are 8 ranks in each files in total. So the total number of squares that we find in a chess board is 64. There 64 squares are again divided into white and dark squares. The object in chess it to check mate your opponent king. Check mate or just mate is often when the king is attacked and the king can not escape a capture on the next move.
