Hi! This Is Dave Smith with Hillcrest Ski and Sports in Gresham, Oregon on behalf of Expert Village. In this tutorial we will cover beginning skiing. In this clip we'll cover how to carry your ski equipment. Some ski shops sell devices to help you carry your ski equipment, but if you've got 2 hands, arms, and shoulders, you should be able to do the trick yourself. Let me show you a little trick for carrying boots. Most boots have Velcro straps near the top. These make for good handles that you can put over your shoulder. Undo both straps and then crisscross the straps of each boot. Now you can place the boots over your shoulder and don't have to worry about carrying them with your hands. Next, grab your poles in one hand your skis in the other. Alternately, you can carry your skis over your shoulder if you're going a long distance. When carrying your skis over your shoulder, it's important to make sure that you have enough clearance when you make turns so that you don't knock anyone out.
