Advanced Rugby Rucking Drill

We’re going to simulate a ruck and the pattern of the player taking the ball in a tackle. Andy is the tackler from the opposite team. Instead of picking up the ball and moving, we’re going to try and clear this player off the ball. We have a good clean ruck, and a player on our team can come and take this ball cleanly away. Now you want to start with a good distance back. Get some good running room and get some good speed. Handing the ball, step over your player. Come underneath, ruck him off the ball like this. When you're in this type of situation, step over the player grab underneath and ruck over the ball.
