Jambo, that means hello and you'll definitely want to know that if you're traveling to Africa. My name is Melissa Schenk on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to talk about some things that you'll want to know before traveling to Africa and also how to survive in the African Wilderness. I've always said that Africa is the most magical place I have ever traveled to and it is because of the people that you experience and encounter. Many of the people if you're in the remote part of Africa where I was in Uganda and you're in the African Wilderness and you meet with locals, a lot of them have never left Africa before, have never encounter certain things like your mountain bike, a lot of the bikes they have in Africa they're called giros and they import them from China and they're one speed. So when they see something like a mountain bike that can climb a mountain they're amazed by this. So you have to keep in mind a lot of people where you may be traveling to have not seeing the things that you've seen and so if you can bring any kind of experience with you or things you might want to leave there. Like let's say you have a pair of shoes that might make the journey there but you don't really don't need to take them home. You can think about leaving things with you. I use to always bring toys and gifts and it was something as simple as bubbles, seeing grown men revel at the marvel of a bubble and being able to pop it. But all of the different things and how the kids react to you and let's say a mountain bike or anything you might take with you will certainly be an experience ending of itself. To sum this up about the people I just wanted to introduce you to Mark Newfield, he was the executive director of Earth Riders Equal Adventures when I traveled to Uganda. There's nothing like riding your bike along this trail, this single track unlike anything you've seen before and people running out to see you because they've never seen probably a white guy, well in some cases. They've certainly never seeing nobody on a mountain bike like this and you're flying through the single track and it's amazing you're having this amazing mountain bike experience like you've had a million times before except that the trail is completely different and the response of people and the smiles and the waves are just unbelievable.
