Jambo, that means hello and you'll definitely want to know that if you're traveling to Africa. My name is Melissa Schenk on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to talk about some things that you'll want to know before traveling to Africa and also how to survive in the African Wilderness. In this clip let's talk about the time, the best time to go to the African Wilderness. You want to pick the right season. It's so important and many people don't think about this when they're taking a vacation because maybe that's the only time they can book for a vacation. But if you can think this out and you can think about going on your African Safari or to the African Wilderness a year or two in advance and you can get that special time off, it's important. Pick the right season, the dry season of course. The most optimal season for many reasons one in particular would be to see animals. With the water holes they do attract a large concentration and a wide variety of animals. It makes it easier for you to view wildlife in many of the game parks. There's many shelter's there too that you can overlook the water holes or you can be driving by in your Landrover on the way to where you're going to be in the wilderness. But the dry season is really good too, because it means that a lot of the vegetation has been drought. I've been on some Safari's where you can't really see anything but the road because the grass is so tall. So you don't want to be having to trek into the wilderness when the grasses are really tall and lush, it's that much more difficult, not that much strenuous for your journey as well. It's also of course it's the dry season you're heading into some parts of Africa the rain forest as it is, so a good idea to take a rain jacket with you, but if you don't have to be soak and wet everyday it always of course makes for a much better enjoyable vacation. In East Africa for instance in Uganda the dry seasons are from January through to March and July through to October. In Southern Africa the dry season runs from May through to October. So it's a good idea to know especially too where you're going to be going in Africa.
