On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Seth Williams. I work for D&K Service and I am here to tell you about simple street bike brake repair and inspection. This is the main body of your caliper here. As you can see, it separates into two sides by the seam here. On the inside here you are going to have two pistons. This is a dual piston brake caliper. Sometimes there is just a single piston and sometimes you will have a four piston caliper. These are going to be your brake bleeder bolts here. Like I said this is how we are going to service, how we will bleed it after we are done servicing it. You take these little rubber caps off. That is how I will hook my pneumatic meter up to that and we will cover that in a later step. There are a bunch of seals and stuff in here that sometimes needs to be replaced. Just do a general check if you are going to be taking it apart of those seals. Make sure you don't have any holes, rips or tears. What I am doing now is just kind of cleaning off the brake fluid that I've spilled on this. Make sure that we have it all wiped down and clean. Brake fluid will stay after the brake parts cleaner is gone. So once this stuff evaporates very quickly you can usually tell if there is any residual brake fluid left which there won't be on this caliper. Once I am done with that, I will make sure that anything that possibly could have gotten brake fluid on it, I spray down and wipe off with a rag so we don't get any stripping of chrome finishes specifically with exhaust systems and chassis parts. Once that is done, we will go over brake pad and rotor inspection.
Took my bike there to fix a hard stalling/start problem. Picked up bike and they replaced a new plug I just put in and turned the RPM's way up to cheap fix it. 186 bucks later was still not working..same problem. They kept another 5 days saying they needed to special order a new petcock from suzuki and 70 bucks more later they put on some bait and switch cheap -- valve. Since it was the wrong valve they plugged the vacuum hose with putty and left it dangling. So disgusted I just took the bike. No hope of dealing with them since the manager himself was in on it.... In Pic upper right of petcock shows puttied vac line..They didn't even put the hose clamp on! If you do go there CHECK their work. I will never go back there. Now I am on vacation without a bike and left dealing with BBB, court, and credit card disputing.... WARN everyone you can
