My name is Alex. This is Andy. We’re from Missoula All-Maggots in Missoula, Montana. In this clip, we’re going to show you how to do a proper tackle on a tackling dummy. This is a great way to practice tackling without actually involving anyone in the play. In all your practices, all the people you’re playing with are your own teammates. Getting anybody hurt it is 100% loss for your team. A great way to get around that is just tackling dummies, such as this. You can really crush these pads. You’ve got to practice tackling behind the ball. The guy is the ball carrier so try and practice tackling through this and not from way back here. I am going to stand to this side holding the dummy like this. Andy is going to judge where my hips are. They’re roughly the same height. Go through the pad. Nobody is hurt.
