Hi, I'm Monica and we are going to show you one last stretch for your neck. This again is another stretch for the anterior muscles of your neck. These muscles, called your scalenes, are a little bit deeper than the SCM that we just talked about, but sometimes they do become really tense or after whip lash injury these muscles can be injured as well. And what you want to do to get them is you are going to want going to want to tilt your head back and off to the side just a little bit here. You also want to make sure that you are holding on to the chair and keeping your shoulder anchored so you should feel it in through here. It is different from the SCM stretch because that one you are going to be feeling more right here. So right the front part of the neck. Come back up to get the left hand side and tilt just a little bit come on back keeping your shoulder down while holding to the edge of the chair and you should feel it right in here.
Monica, your videos are a great gift. Thanks!
Monica your videos have been a great help for me. I recently had my neck fused from C3-C7 and was instructed to have therapy. Knowing the therapists in my home town are not that great, I went on the web and found your videos and I thank you for the help that you have given me.
Thank you Monica. After months of largely ineffective general physical therapy for neck and shoulder pain I turned to the internet and found your Physical Therapy Exercises and Stretches for the Neck Muscles. I now start my day going through all 13 of them with you via your excellent mini-videos. The improvement has been amazing. Again, thank you. AnnetteW
