How to Convert Files into Mp3's: Songwriting

Hi this is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to talk to you about converting your files into MP3s and burning them onto CDs. So, once you've finished your recording you're going to want to be able to do something with it. I recommend burning it to MP3 because that way you can share it with friends, you can come up with new ideas. It's very easy to exchange files. So what I do is that every program you have digitally is going to allow you to basically you can send your song to, you can export it. In this case I exported it to iTunes. I just click Send song to iTunes. Name it. And the song gets sent over to iTunes in a minute or so I have an MP3 version of my song. Now what you may find is that you want a higher quality of recording in which case there are other settings such as wave, such as AAC, different options to get a higher quality of recording. It all depends on what you want and your computer is going to tell you which one is the higher quality. What it comes down to though is that the higher quality ones take up a lot more space. They can't be e-mailed as easily. Once you've got all that done what you can do is burn your song to a CD. And that's so easy. So what you do is you create a new playlist in your library for using a Mac and there are similar tools for Windows systems. And you throw your song in there. And as you can see right over here there's a little button you can press that says Burn Disk. Press it and you have a CD. It's a great thing about all this digital stuff is that it's very easy to take a final version of your song and put it out however you want. If you want to make a CD it takes about a minute. You just follow the instructions on your computer, or if you want to send it as an MP3 you just do the export and then you have the MP3 and you can do whatever you want with it.
